15”X15" Inkjet Transfer to hand made birch wood panel. The image is applied to the panel using an alcohol based solution, which when evaporated leaves only the pigment based ink on the surface of the panel. Due to the translucent nature of pigment inks, the unique wood grain and knothole of each panel can be made visible adding to the texture of each image.
Inkjet Transfer
The term “Inkjet Transfer” refers to any process that allows for the transfer of an inkjet printed image to a substrate too thick to pass through a printer. It can also be thought of as the 21st century digital equivalent to the analog Polaroid transfer, which was popular in the 70’s.
